Job Description:

The Manufacturing Engineer position involves the technical leadership and oversight of the process requirements, design review, process data analysis, process development of electrical and mechanical systems that support launch vehicles, satellite communications, imaging systems, and control systems. Responsibilities include detailed, written assembly instructions for hardware circuit level designs, and requires management of new and existing hardware products. The individual will participate in a multi-disciplined engineering team environment. Work closely with the Program Manager, assigned engineering team, quality and other departments as necessary to expedite project completion and most importantly meet the customer expectations. This position is also responsible for evaluating production results for trends and developing improvements to increase the efficiency and yield of the production process, as well as, establishing corrective and preventive actions to process issues.

Essential Functions:

  • Function as the Process Champion for assigned products

  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex electronic assemblies to the component level

  • Learn space avionics, imaging systems, and communications product functionality

  • Generate Assembly Written Instructions, develop new processes, and implementation

  • Generate corrective and preventative actions for process inefficiencies

  • Interface with customers verbally and in writing

  • Work collaboratively with manufacturing operations and quality engineering to improve processes

  • Interfacing effectively with people at all levels and from diverse technical backgrounds

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills through the preparation and presentation of manufacturing and production readiness

  • Control account manager (CAM) for designated programs

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

  • Must be able to travel domestically up to 10% of the time

  • Must be a United States Citizen

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • 2 years or more experience with demonstrated solid proficiencies in analysis tools, hands-on results are necessary

  • 2 years or more experience with demonstrated leadership within and outside of a team environment

  • 2 years or more experience with excellent verbal communication, writing and organizational skills

  • BS in Electrical or Electronics, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering

  • Soft skills (I.E. Proficient in MS Office, Strong communication…)

  • A passion for innovation

  • A sophisticated understanding of circuit level electronic equipment

  • CAD Knowledge

  • Lean Manufacturing principles a plus
