Job Description:
Oversee and drive the technology and execution of our Space and Sensor Products
Accountable for the cost, schedule, and technical commitments for programs in the Sensors area.
Develop and implement technical strategies to enhance our product offerings.
Provide direction to cross-functional teams in the assessment and integration of new technologies into existing product lines.
Provide technical expertise in the development of proposals and presentations to customers and stakeholders.
Serve as single point-of-contact between leadership and Engineering for the space and sensors area.
Ensure design and developed systems are in compliance with specifications.
Drive strategic architectural and design decisions.
Work with Program Management, Business Development, and Operations to develop tactical and operational plans and goals.
Manage & execute a 5+ year strategy plan with minimal oversight or direction.
Provide technical direction and leadership, ensuring that engineering efforts align with the company's strategic goals.
Partner with Business development to provide technical solutions to the customer’s needs.
Partner with department managers to ensure proper allocation and management of engineering resources within their product area, including budgets, tools, and staffing.
Mentor engineers and technical leads, fostering professional growth and building a strong, competent engineering team.
Ensures that all engineering activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
Support the strategic planning of the Sensors organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience OR a graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience. 3 Years minimum experience in engineering development efforts on sensor products.
Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Chief Engineering Organization and/or Functional Management leadership experience.
Proven experience with executive-level interactions and communication.
Knowledge of coordinating cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated promotion of open and productive collaboration and teamwork across multiple functions.
Understanding of entire program/engineering life cycle phases and how funding is established.
