Community Clinic Inc. Dentist (FT, PT, PRN, and Various Locations) in Maryland, Maryland

In this role, the Dentist will report to the Chief Dental Officer (CDO).  Additionally, the Dentist is responsible for the care of patients in the clinics as determined by the CDO.   

As a member of the health center’s integrated care team, the Dentist will fulfill the following KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES towards the provision of patient-centered, coordinated patient care: 

  • Provides direct dental care including diagnostic, preventative, restorative, periodontics procedures related to general dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, oral surgery procedures related to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry related to general dentistry.   

  • Coordinates dental services with other professional services. 

  • Maintains accurate, timely, and up-to-date records. 

  • Maintains cognizance of state and federal regulations and CCI compliance for reporting, licensing, and code requirements. 

  • Maintains records, files, logs, and reports in accordance with CCI policy. 

  • Maintains and cares for equipment. 

  • Maintains current certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. 

  • Participates in and attends meetings, committees, and training as requested or needed.    

  • Promotes and fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and excellence among staff.    

  • Promotes and fosters mentorship and guidance to dental assistants to create a cohesive treatment flow. 

  • Maintain organizational and clinic goals towards productivity goals. 

  • Ensure all treatments are conducted consistently within current, relevant standards, as well as federal, state, and local regulations and standards. 

  • Provide care in a manner that respects the patient’s rights and choices in a multi-cultural setting. 

      

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • D.D.S. or D.M.D. from an accredited dental school. 

  • Licensed Dentist in the State of Maryland without restriction. 

  • Current DEA, CPR, NPI, and CDS licensure. 

  • Thorough knowledge and practice of current quality dental practices and procedures. 

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and communicate effectively. 

  • Experience/Interest in working with a culturally diverse, low-income population. 

  • Good judgment and decision-making ability. 

  • Expertise in computer skills and dental electronic records. 

  • Flexible, responsible, tactful, resourceful, and objective. 

  • Good health and attendance record. 

  • Demonstrated leadership, oral and written communication, and analytic skills. 

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. 

  • Experience working with children preferred. 

  • Understanding and job knowledge of HIPPA privacy rules. 

  • Working on-site is an essential duty for the job. 

  • Attending organization’s outreach events to deliver or promote oral health. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Proper and professional grooming is always expected. 

  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending or working at a desk on a computer. 

  • The ability to lift (up to 15lbs) is required.  

  • Work under stressful conditions within a controlled enclosed environment daily. The work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.   

  •  In accordance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), it is possible that requirements may be modified to reasonably accommodate disabled individuals. However, no accommodation will be made which may pose serious health or safety risks to the employee or others or which impose undue hardships on the organization.  

  • OSHA Category 1.  Clinical environment. This is a clinical environment.  As such, there is a possibility of exposure to chemicals and infectious body fluids e.g., HPV, HIV, HEP C, HSV.
