LPN/RN -- Surgical Coordinator

Reports to: Office Manager & Surgeon

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for assisting the doctor in the clinical treatment of patients and supervising all clinical staff.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Clinical Staff Management

  • Supervision of all clinical staff
  • Make sure that the needs are met of the patients and surgeon.
  • Accurately advise all clinical staff responsible for patient care.
  • Report observed or suspected violations, hazard, and non-compliance according to office policy.
  • Provide all clinical staff performance evaluations

Patient Management

Greet patients when they sign in and monitor arrival time

Set up treatment rooms for procedures

Escort patients to treatment room

Seat patients in treatment rooms

Show care and concern, and help patients feel comfortable

Obtain and review health histories according to office protocol

Apply vital sign monitoring equipment (NIBP, EKG, Pulse oximeter)

Initiate venous access when directed and secure

Ensure patients are always attended

Anticipate and assist doctor's needs

Perform expanded functions and other tasks as assigned by the doctor

Mix oral surgery materials

Ensure patients' questions are answered thoroughly before they leave
