Unofficial transcripts to be submitted for instructor eligibility review Please either attach to your application prior to submittal or email them to clara.vanegeren@nwtc.edu or generalstudies@nwtc.edu GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Guide diverse population of learners acquire Basic Education skills and reach their goals for education, employment, and personal enrichment through learning opportunities provided in a positive and nurturing environment. Responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instruction and assessment of learning outcomes. Provide student advising within the following areas of instruction: o Math skills - whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, measurements, real numbers, algebraic expressions, equations and inequalities, word problems and measurements ratio/proportions, geometry o Reading skills reading rate, comprehension, and vocabulary o Language skills Grammar, Usage, Mechanics, Paragraphing and Writing Conventions o Study Skills Seminars - strategies for textbook study and concentration, using your notes and your time to your advantage. o Preparing for tests and easing anxiety o Test taking Strategies. o CivicsWisconsin and Federal Government structure and function o Social StudiesCivics and government, US History, economics, geography, and the world o ScienceLife science, physical science, earth, and space science o High School Transcript review. o Proctor and review results of their Career Plan assessment. o College 101 (College Success principles)embedded activities within curriculum coursework Proctor TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) pre-testing and post testing. Facilitate completion of State and NWTC required paperwork for each student. Record student attendance hours and submit weekly. Issue GED Ready tests, and review results and next steps with students. Assist students in applying for NWTC GED Test Fee Scholarships, or HSED State Credentialing Fee. Support students through the GED Test registration process. Guide HSED students through the draft and final letter to the Department of Public Instruction requesting their High School Equivalency Diploma. Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies which foster student success both in and outside of the classroom. Comply with College policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery. Additional duties and responsibilities as needed. Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required by other agencies to maintain individual and program accreditation. Comply with College policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery.
