Chevron Venezuela is accepting online applications for the position Process Engineer through July 16 at 11:59 p.m.

The Process Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting daily operations, troubleshooting, optimization, and debottlenecking activities at the Petro Boscan Field in Maracaibo, Venezuela. This individual will also support small projects and other project teams, ensuring safety and production operations are enhanced through the management-of-change process

Expected to participate as team member for Maintenance Team and provide consultation to Operations and Projects in the assigned area.

Responsibilities:

Upstream Activities: Involves supporting the value of chain of producing oil and gas to the surface from the reservoir.Design and Optimization: Designing and optimizing the operation of equipment and facilities to ensure efficient processing and production. Identifies proactive reliability project opportunities that will improve equipment and system reliability, availability, and efficiency. Partners with operations and maintenance teams to find ways to lower planned shut-in time and reduce OPEX. Takes initiative to introduce new technology or ideas and work processes to the Operations and Engineering teamsProcess Safety: Advising on process safety issues to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of operations. Manages MOC’s and engages subject matter experts to mature projects through implementation and operation.Commissioning: Commissioning new installations and ensuring that they operate correctly and efficiently.Technical Support: Providing technical support to oil and gas production facilities, and chemical plants. Participate in Root Cause Failure Analyses on small and large equipment failures including safety, environmental or significant near miss incidents. Ability to conduct cross-area, multi-discipline RCAs. Prepares written and understandable incident investigation reports. Ensures technical accuracy of the report and facilitates the development of the action plan in consultation with appropriate leadership.Ensuring Integrity: Ensuring the technical integrity of plants and new projects to maintain continuous and safe operations.Data Analysis: Analyzing laboratory, SCADA trends, test results from CBM, Pdm, ITPM’s and various plant data to improve processes and troubleshoot issues. Creates action plans to lower significant downtime as identified from bad actors. Actively participates in reduction of nuisance alarms. Tracks reliability metrics and shares results asset.Daily Operations: Liaising with operators in the control room daily to monitor and adjust processes as needed. Works closely with the operations and maintenance teams to drive improvements in Reliability and Efficiency.Process simulation: these activities are a fundamental aspect of the process engineer’s role, here are some key activities they cover: Creating models for oil and gas liquid fractionations using dynamic or steady-state simulation software applications. Using specialized software tools to analyze processes and optimize their performance. Developing and maintaining thermodynamic models and mathematical equations that accurately represent the behavior of various Oil and Gas processes. Comparing simulation results with actual plant data and conducting sensitivity analyses to verify the accuracy of the models. Identifying areas for process improvements and proposing modifications or optimizations to increase efficiency, reduce costs, or meet regulatory requirements. Conducting performance improvement feasibility studies to increase yields and operational efficiency. Considering equipment holdup and sizing for new designs and optimizing based on dynamic behavior to potentially reduce capital expenditures.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in upstream operations and maintenance process engineering activities.• Demonstrated troubleshooting capabilities and knowledge of facility equipment and systems.• Proven leadership skills, aligning and inspiring both company and contract personnel.• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively with minimal supervision.• Experience in process engineering, including flow simulations.• Knowledge of Base Business initiatives, Facility Integrity and Reliability Management programs and Surface Facilities Optimization. • Demonstrated mentoring in operations, Safety management programs, Process safety, Optimizations process, and Asset integrity. Actively grows own capabilities and provides technical mentoring of others.

Preferred Qualifications:

Process Engineer graduated as Chemical, Mechanical, Gas and/or Petroleum Engineer with proven minimum of 5 years’ experience as process engineer with emphasis on supporting operations and maintenance of Dehydration Plants, Flow Stations and Pumping Units and associated field and plant processing equipment.
