Here, you will make an impact by:Develop and maintain an IT vendor & asset management framework and policies to ensure the effective delivery, management, and oversight of IT services.Develop and maintain a comprehensive vendor and asset management strategy and framework to ensure effective selection, onboarding, and ongoing management of IT vendors, and, effective acquisition, tracking, maintenance, and disposal of IT assets throughout their lifecycle.Identify and evaluate potential IT vendors, assessing their capabilities, reliability, and suitability to meet the organization's needs.Work with Procurement on negotiation of contracts, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs) with IT vendors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with business objectives and budgetary constraints.Manage vendor contracts and renewals, ensuring timely renewal negotiations and contract amendments as necessary.Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and key performance indicators (KPIs), addressing any issues or concerns in a timely manner.Work with Procurement to conduct regular vendor reviews and performance evaluations, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement as needed.Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including IT teams, legal, procurement, and finance, to ensure alignment and compliance with vendor and asset management processes and policies.Establish and maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and peripherals, using asset management software/tools.Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in vendor management and leverage this knowledge to continuously improve our vendor management practices.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionFifteen (15) years IT professional experience in a private, public, government or military environmentFive (5) years of experience in IT vendor management, IT Asset Management, procurement, or a similar role within a technology-driven organization in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Excellent interpersonal and written communication skillsExperience with financial analysis, budgetingProven ability to develop and exercise project plans with minimal supervisionA quick learner, detail oriented, organized, strong problem-solving skills and collaboration across teams, functions and organizationsExperience with asset management software/tools, such as ServiceNow, AssetTrack, or Lansweeper.Excellent negotiation, contract management, and relationship management skills.Experience managing vendor relationships and contracts for IT services, software licenses, compliance requirements and hardware procurement.Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to vendor management and contract negotiations.Strong understanding of vendor & asset management principles, practices, and methodolog es.Work location:Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on site, or hybrid)Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/internationalRelocation Assistance: Is not authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
