Position Summary

The Production Supervisor II position provides direct supervision to production by implementing manufacturing schedules, staffing and training requirements, quality and cost controls, production standards, continuous improvement activities and safety programs to meet or exceed production quotas.

Principal Responsibilities

• Champion a safety driven culture. Ensure compliance with all safety and environment regulations.

• Lead safety initiatives, maintain CPR certification, assume Incident Commander role and point of contact in emergencies.

• Provide work direction and oversee adherence to company policies to the manufacturing team, with knowledge and skillset to support all functional areas.

• Ability to work with minimal next level leadership and direction, and make critical business decisions without input and approval from next level leadership.

• Proactively plan and execute cross-training to develop talent within the organization.

• Engage in employee recognition and employee development by identifying exceptional performance and coordinating recognition activities.

• Utilize 5S and lean methodologies to maintain a safe, clean and organized workplace. Perform 5S audits to ensure that best practices are maintained.

• Ensure proper tools and materials are available as needed to meet production requirements.

• Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the production support team.

• Identify quality issues or workmanship deficiencies related to equipment, assembly and inspection processes, materials, sub-assemblies, and the manufacturing environment.

• Comply with GMP requirements by maintaining individual training records, completing data entry in production records in a timely and accurate manner, and adhering to documented manufacturing practices and procedures as defined in Teleflex Quality Systems Procedures.

• Maintain and review production records to verify they are complete and accurate.

• Assist in providing work direction and maintaining work flow in the absence of the Operations Leader.

• Maintain standard work by performing time studies and maintaining production plays to direct work content for Production Operators and establish production goals and capacities.

• Maintain and reorder established quantities for Kanban items to control inventories. Accurately execute transactions in BECS and SAP to ensure proper issuing, closing and labor reporting on all work orders.

• Ensure effective transfer of information between shifts when applicable.

• Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated within defined timelines. Coordinate with technicians and metrology to minimize interruption to production lines.

• Work with Operators and engineering staff identify and implement improvements to reduce scrap, improve quality, capacity and product flow for assigned product lines.

• Enforce adherence to company policies and procedures and take timely corrective action, as necessary.

• Review employee time cards and production scans to maintain accurate cost accounting records and ensure adherence to company policies.

• Review change orders (CO’s) to processes and shop floor paperwork as assigned.

• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Requirements

• Completed High School Diploma or GED.

• Minimum of 3 years medical assembly experience is required.

• Minimum of 2 years of management experience required.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communication.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Ability to demonstrate team building, problem solving and leadership skills is required.

• Experience in Lean Manufacturing, GMP, FDA and ISO is preferred.
