Shell Legal Counsel in Manila, Philippines

Shell Pilipinas Corporation (SPC) is primarily engaged in the importation and marketing of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, fuel oil, lubricants, bitumen, and other petroleum products. Legal's strategic intent is to partner with Shell’s businesses and functions in the delivery of Shell’s Purpose and Strategy. For example, the function prepares for future risks and opportunities and protects Shell’s reputation and businesses from existing and emerging risks, balances business value and risk and, where necessary, intervenes to ensure compliance with Shell’s Business Principles and Code of Conduct.

Accountabalities:

• To provide supervised legal services / E&C advice relating to a variety of legal fields (or level of single specialty) to a defined area of Company / Business. Individual contributor (country responsibility by exception). As ECM role, remit tends to be for the smaller country roles.

• Client contact is at the operational level, some middle management. Has some external interfaces (e.g. as a delegate or with third parties for transactions on pre-discussed positions).

• Makes appropriate judgement as to when to refer decisions / issues to manager or more experienced colleagues. Will have some autonomy on less complex casework (e.g. day-to-day cases with precedents). Consults and keeps manager informed at significant checkpoints.
