Job Description:
Johnson and Johnson is recruiting for a Procurement Sourcing Specialist located in Wilson, NC.
While this role will ultimately support the site operations located in Wilson NC, this role will also be required to support the project phase across both design & construction. For the project design phase, the role will require you to be present with our design teams in the Greater Philadelphia region. Once the design phase is completed, this role will support the construction and operational start-up of the site. For this, you will be required to be on site in Wilson, NC. Based on your current location the hiring team will work with you to determine travel and relocation arrangements. In steady state, we expect travel to be less than 10%.

You will be responsible for ensuring the best value in our supplier engagements that impact our Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (IM) portfolio for direct material categories including Biologics, chemicals. You will collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to ensure our direct material spend are sourced successfully, the right sourcing strategy is defined upfront and the best value is extracted. Your contributions will help fulfill our Credo commitments to our employees who work in these facilities so that they can fulfill our responsibilities to “the patients, doctors and nurses, to mothers and fathers and all others who use our products and services”.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the category/sourcing processes related to the Direct material categories (such as Bio, chemicals, etc.) with a specific region in NA to support significant capital projects in the Innovative Medicine portfolio.
Handle spend of approximately $100 million annually, with medium complexity and requires a high degree of collaboration with stakeholders internally and externally.
Supporting strategies and initiatives aligned with procurement strategy. Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across Supply Chain, CCFS, Operations, Planning, Finance
Handle the relationships and Procurement activities across 3-5 preferred suppliers to ensure the success of short and long-term projects measured on financial performance, quality, service, and compliance.
Lead execution of category strategies to include sourcing, negotiations, contract implementation/adherence, and performance against established targets to ensure success.
Interface directly with supplier’s l to assure alignment of J&J’s objectives are met, including quality, reliability, innovation and cost.
Lead supplier relationship management. This includes data review and analysis, performance management, development, and improvement of end-to-end value, and bring innovation to the business.
Promptly and judiciously raise and lead issues that may impact the Procurement organization and/or our team members. Explore and implement solutions in a collaborative and Credo-based manner.
Qualifications
Education:
- A minimum of a BA/BS degree is required with a preference for majors in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Science, Finance or similar.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
A minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience
Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (i.e. Spend Management, Category Management and Supplier Management).
Strong leadership, communication, influencing, trust-building, and collaboration skills
Able to prioritize requests and develop/propose effective solutions/alternatives in collaboration with others
Demonstrated commitment to Credo-based decision-making, following policies, and acting with a sense of urgency. Maintains confidentiality as necessary.
Demonstrated willingness to assess and adapt to changes in the external environment
Preferred:
Experienced professional with business experience in multiple roles across a variety of functional specialties, R&D, Supply Chain, or a Technical field with at least 3-5 years within a Procurement environment
Demonstrated experience with Procurement’s policies, operations, processes, operating model, and value proposition
Strong business and financial acumen
Successfully led cross-functional teams with strong project management skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
Other:
- Travel is expected to be 20-30%
