The role you’ll contribute:

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) the Executive Director of Finance. Responsible for overseeing preparation of accurate and timely operating budgets, capital budget and regulatory reporting. Responsible to proactively create tools and reports to transform data into information to provide insight to executive team and operational management for controlling costs, managing change, improving performance and creating organizational value. This includes, but is not limited to, daily, weekly and monthly expense monitoring tools, proformas, hindsight analyses of capital, supply and new-service expenditures and other reports for local and AHS management, finance committee, board of directors and other constituents as requested. Responsible to develop and implement human systems to ensure management of expenses and capital in relationship to hospital revenues and budget. Must be proficient in communicating complex topics in a clear and concise manner that is easily understood by individuals without formal financial training. Must demonstrate ability to transfer knowledge to others in a way that is useful in improving the financial and mission performance of the respective areas of responsibility.

· Provides guidance for the development and maintenance of financial and reporting databases.

· Analyzes system data to recommend specific contract rate changes to maintain or increase profitability.

· Facilitates, organizes, and analyzes financial information for decision making within the organization.

· Interacts and collaborates with all levels of management in the development of financial plans and interpreting financial results in relationship to managed care performance and enhance physician productivity and practice performance.

· Maintains a productivity reporting system to inform directors and administration of daily productivity compared to budget and benchmark standards.

· Prepares and makes presentations to various Executive Committees and Boards on the current financial statements for divisional service lines/services.

· Provides financial reporting and support at operating unit level.

· Seeks out financial improvement opportunities within the organizations for managed care revenue, volumes, costs, efficiency and productivity.

· Adheres to applicable practice standards specific to area of responsibility.

· Accountable for assuring compliance and providing evidence of performance with the State of Florida regulatory agencies, basic Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations, as well as other local, state, and federal

· Adheres to applicable practice standards specific to area of responsibility.

· Develops and implements initiatives, processes, and systems and creates goals that align with organizational and operational strategies; supporting organizational initiatives.

· Acts as change agent; utilizing change theory to plan for the implementation of organizational change

· Develops action plans; leads and supports practice/process change, performance improvement activities, etc.

· Develops dashboards and feedback mechanisms ensuring transparency and open data communication

· Monitors relevant outcomes ensuring services are provided at appropriate levels for all stakeholders

· Coordinates efforts to promote and provide information on the CREATION Life philosophy to leaders and employees working in assigned department

· Ensures that the services offered, within scope of responsibility and as applicable, are properly communicated in the community

· Participates in workforce planning and employment decisions; champions a diverse workforce, interprets and evaluates employee satisfaction and quality of work surveys to achieve positive outcomes

· Establishing, implementing and managing staffing of assigned areas to meet the models of care and is consistently applied to meet organizational objectives

· Assesses plans to address issues such as ethnic, cultural and diversity changes in the population; political and social influences; financial and economic issues; aging of society and demographic trends; ethical issues and environmental influences on health

· Accepts organizational accountability for scope of practice outcomes; holds leadership and staff accountable for outcomes and work performed, including performance improvement outcomes

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications :

  • Bachelors and 5 years finance related experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

  • Seven (7) years' proven experience including at least five (5) years' experience in finance, accounting or related field.

  • Four (4) years of leadership experience

  • Completion of the CPA exam, membership and specialty certification in a professional organization (AICPA & HFMA) is strongly recommended.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Demonstrates proven knowledge of finance, cost control, productivity enhancement, revenue cycle within a hospital and ambulatory setting

  • Exceptional people management, leadership, interpersonal relationship and organizational skills

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of leadership, physicians and staff

  • Solid experience using Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and Access

  • Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals

  • Strong decision-making skills based on facts and analytics

  • Ability to accurately interpret and communicate corporate policies and regulations (state and federal) and work with the industry benchmarks
