Job Description:

The Process Engineer determines the optimal manufacturing methods and processes for customized prosthetic dental products from start-up, building the product line, through satisfactory production. This includes analyzing engineering design documents to establish manufacturing methods and processes to manufacture a component, creating conceptual sketches and initiating the design and building of required tooling. They are responsible for engineering oversight of the production process(es) to which they are assigned. This includes daily process monitoring, troubleshooting, process improvement, implementation and review of SOPs for the production environment. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for successfully coordinating projects with counterparts at other production sites, as assigned. They will drive improvement to product cost, quality and performance by utilizing Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) methodologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports new product launches by supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) process set up and assisting in Equipment and Process Validation(s).

  • Accountable for the performance of assigned production processes by maintaining and improving product quality and adhering to regulatory requirements.

  • Ensures efficient and stable process performance of assigned production line(s).

  • First in line to address production issues that need immediate attention by employing temporary counter-measures followed by permanent solutions if required. Tools used include PSP.

  • Tracks and reports KPIs to manager(s), develops action plans to address relevant process issues; successfully changes red KPIs to green status.

  • Performs verification and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) activities of new/modified production processes, equipment and workflows.

  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of assigned production line, and sustainment of achieved results. For example; reducing unit cost, increasing quality, yield and productivity.

  • Serves as the primary EBS agent for their assigned production line(s).

  • Analyzes data and KPI utilizing statistical principles to make sound technical decisions.

  • Proactively proposes, participates in, and leads Kaizen events.

  • Assesses project or task needs; asks for support from pertinent cross-functional groups to address gaps

  • Creates standard operating procedures (SOPs) and trains production employees on SOPs.

  • Keep production lines in full service by solving equipment and process-related issues with a “can-do” approach, dedication, and follow-through.

  • Support Global Process Owners (GPOs), colleague engineers, and management on various projects as assigned.

  • Travels to off-site facilities to support other functional groups, participate in company events and participate in training activities, continuous improvement activities (as needed)

  • Must be willing to travel internationally (up to 10%) depending on business demands.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering or related field

  • Minimum 3 years of experience; experience in a regulated industry, such as medical, aerospace or automotive is highly desired

  • Knowledge of Lean 6-Sigma methodology; Green Belt Certified is a plus

Preferred:

  • Experience in CAD/CAM with 5-axis CNC milling machines, preferred.

  • Experience working in an FDA regulated and/or ISO environment preferred

  • Proven track record of successful validation of manufacturing processes (IQ/OQ/PQ) preferred

  • Demonstrated effective planning and organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of statistical tools, lean manufacturing or tools used to optimize processes preferred

  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Suite).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to process data, analyze information, think critically, identify root-case and solve complex problems.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
