JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Wisconsin Union is looking for an experienced maintenance technician to join our facilities team at the Fluno Center. The Fluno Center is a full service hotel and conference center. This position will work with other technicians, mechanics, and trades staff to keep our buildings and grounds beautiful and functioning perfectly. The successful person in this position will be able to work well as part of a team but will also have the experience necessary to independently problem solve mechanical and maintenance issues. Responsibilities: Inspects, maintains, and repairs specialized equipment and facilities to ensure property meets established standards and to prevent further damage. Assists with construction, design and operational maintenance as needed. 35% Utilizes specialized equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation 30% Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness 20% Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures 5% Receives, inspects, inventories, and distributes deliveries independently to appropriate entities 10% Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
