SEA Wire and Cable Accounting Associate in Madison, Alabama

Job Summary

This position is responsible for handling all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining excellent vendor relationships. The ideal candidate is detail orientated and is highly organized. This role requires a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Receive, review, enter, and upload invoices and check requests.

  • Track expenses and process expense reports.

  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.

  • Prepare and perform check runs.

  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.

  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.

  • Maintain vendor files and reconcile vendor statements.

  • Manage accounting files.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Offer general accounting and clerical support within the department.

    Qualifications and Skills

  • BS degree in Accounting or Business OR at least 2 years of accounting experience required .

  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable experience.

  • Strong mathematical skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving proficiency.

  • Ability to be proactive and assertive while maintaining positive customer relationships.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization and planning capabilities.

    Physical Requirements

    While the role is primarily sedentary, occasional filing duties may require lifting files, accessing filing cabinets, and standing on a stool if necessary. The employee must be capable of using hands and fingers for handling objects, tools, or controls, as well as reaching, talking, and hearing. Additionally, the ability to occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds may be necessary.
