Down East Community Hospital Infection Prevention/Employee Health RN in Machias, Maine
The Infection Prevention/Employee Health Nurse has two distinct areas of responsibility. The role of Infection Prevention will focus on prevention, management and investigation of hospital infection control issues as well as surveillance of infections, development of infection prevention and control policies and procedures, and infection prevention and control education for hospital personnel.
The Employee Health role will include promoting health and wellness in the employee population through education, management of employee health records and requirements for employment at. Employee Health will review and develop employee health policies as required and/or needed.
Two (2) years minimum experience as an RN in the acute care setting.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Maine.
Previous experience in infection prevention preferred.
Current BCLS.
Previous experience in infection prevention preferred.
Completion of basic training program for Infection Prevention within 1 year.
Ability to teach and evaluate clinical performance as pertaining to Infection Prevention.
Understanding of cost-effective delivery of quality health care, with ability to manage department budget.
Ability to develop policies and procedures.
Attention to detail.
Demonstrate leadership skills with strengths in communication and problem-solving, and the ability to interact positively and effectively with all levels of healthcare personnel.
Highly reliable individual with a passion for quality healthcare and the ability to function independently.
High level of discretion as this role will be responsible for highly confidential information and data.
