Amazon Configuration Engineer, Sustainable Packaging Europe in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Description

EU Sustainable Packaging Configuration Engineer is the first point of contact for fielding operational issues and opportunities from the field, providing direct support for troubleshooting or idea refinement to Operations, SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) and key stakeholders. They also maintain internal configuration setting processes and documentation for EU Sustainable Packaging. The successful candidate will lead the Box Web Configuration and Audit processes, will be responsible for communication of workflow status internally and externally and will own the system escalations. The Support Engineer owns the Change Management System (CM) and is responsible to ensure that CM process is followed end-to-end prior any modifications are done. Additionally, they provide operational insights to the Technical Team and work with them to develop advanced and intuitive automated solutions for our systems. A successful candidate is highly detail oriented and organized, has strong data mining and modeling skills, and is comfortable facilitating ideation and working from concept through execution. They also have strong customer service skills and are able to communicate verbally and in writing with cross-functional stakeholders including senior operations managers, procurement, transportation and other partners. They are self-starters that are comfortable with ambiguity and are able to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Finally, the ideal candidate has a strong focus on internal customers, professional demeanor, and high intellectual curiosity that motivates self-taught learning of new operational concepts, algorithms and technology rapidly as changes arise.

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

  • Own the Box Configuration Standard Process and Change Management Tool

  • Manage settings for existing and new buildings

  • Be a Subject-Matter Expert on Box Recommendation Configuration System

  • Root cause research to identify process breakdowns within departments and providing data through use of various skill sets to find solutions to breakdown

  • Drive process improvements, build KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and metrics, and document systems and processes for internal publication

  • Business analysis and partnership across Amazon with Amazon Fulfillment Technology, SME and Fulfillment Center operational managers

  • Responsible for developing, enhancing, automating and managing business models using strong quantitative skills

  • Ability to work with Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) team by providing the team with detailed barriers and operational details

  • Ability to effectively identify and communicate detailed technical issues

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Mining data from existing databases ( SQL Server, Redshift, Oracle DW)

  • Provide timely and concise updates and results to cross-functional customers

  • Supporting internal teams as needed for initiative support

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in program or project management

  • Experience working cross functionally with non-tech teams

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
