Description
The Dean of Health Sciences
is responsible for
promoting academic, administrative, and fiscal leadership
in accordance with
Robeson Community Colleges Strategic Plan and for exercising holistic judgment when executing the duties of this position. The Dean supervises both full-time and part-time faculty in health sciences programs such as:
Associate Degree in Nursing,
Medical Sonography, Nurse Aide
I and II,
Practical Nursing, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, Surgical Technology
.
The Dean also supervises the Program Directors/Chairs of each department. As such, the Dean
is responsible for
leading curriculum development, program assessment and evaluation, grant supervision, budget planning and monitoring, faculty recruitment, supervision, and evaluation.
Additionally, the Dean of Health Sciences leads the Colleges efforts to enhance the profile, visibility, and effectiveness of curriculum programs in support of college goals and
objectives
. This position provides leadership, management, and support for program directors/chairs, lead instructors, coordinators, instructional support, faculty, and curricula. The Dean fosters a high-quality environment of academic teaching and intellectual achievement, and creates and strengthens partnerships both internally and externally, as a strong advocate.

Leadership/Program Development
- Collaborate with health sciences faculty and staff to assess and improve learning at the program level, produce reports as needed to demonstrate progress made toward achievement of learning and designing, collecting, and evaluating data related to learning ; s upport faculty and staff through open communication and professional development.
