SITE MANAGER - FOSSIL POWER

General Duties:
Responsible for policy administration and contract implementation, profitability, and satisfactory execution of the assigned work and tasks, as specified by the approved contract documents. Ensure that the highest degree of employee and plant safety and quality standards are met.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of assigned personnel, including an effective employee relations program. Responsible for the successful implementation of the D&Z Safety Manual.
  • Responsible for assuring those operations are conducted in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct and the laws that govern operation. Takes a lead role in corrective action necessary to ensure conformity with quality and ethical standards. Serves as a role m odel and actively fosters employee awareness of and commitment to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
  • Responsible for employee development relative to skills and company growth goals, and actively participates in periodic and annual employee reviews and appraisals.
  • Responsible for meeting the obligations of the contract and Client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for the successful implementation of the Project Quality Assurance/Control Program.
  • Represents the company on project related matters with the Client as well as local government and civic organizations.
  • Participates with D&Z managers/supervisors and the Client to define and interpret scope and objectives of the assigned work / project, including the approval of requisitions for personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontracts.
  • Monitors scope, scope changes, budgets, and schedules to ensure the objectives of the assigned work / project are achieved.
  • Participates with D&Z management/supervisors and the Client to identify and resolve problem areas, revisions and modifications to the assigned work / project.
  • Continually strives for better and more economical methods relative to performance of the work.
  • Assigns, guides, delegates and personally engages in investigational work to determine the adequacy of the various aspects of the assigned work / project. Performs inspections of work in progress to assess status and drive problem resolution.
  • Ensures preparation of contract amendments to address necessary contract changes. Maintains Craft and Staff billing rates in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Reviews insurance and Worker's Compensation claim requirements. Process claims, monitor claim progress and maintains documentation.
  • Directs Document Control activities to ensure compliance with Quality, Client, and Regulatory requirements.
  • Develops / revises field procedures as required.
Expected Internal Relationships:
Interface with the D&Z Managers / Supervisors, Corporate Director of Safety, Director of Quality Assurance, Corporate Human Resources and Project Controls. Reports to Director of Operations.

Expected External Relationships:
Client, Local Government Officials, Civic and Community Organization

Background and Education:
  • BS/BA preferred in Construction Management, Engineering or Business
  • 8+ years of experience in construction management, project management, preferably in the maintenance and modification industry.
  • Fossil Power Generation Industry experience required

  • Ability to read and write complex documents in the English language
  • Capacity to reason and make sound decisions
  • Ability to wear a mask, respirator, bullet proof vest, or other equipment
  • Ability to regularly perform all job functions at Company's office or work site
  • Ability to withstand environmental conditions (e.g., extreme heat or cold, grass, wind, sand, fumes, odors, gases, extreme noise, etc.)
  • Ability to successfully complete elements required to obtain unescorted access to Client facilities/plants (background screening, drug/alcohol screening, psychological screening, training, etc.)
