Quality Engineer

Job Description

Launch Quality Engineer is responsible for data analytics of quality launch. Will investigate issues from quality control systems and support launch team specialists as well as inspection teams to ensure they have what is needed for pre-delivery. Supporting new model content and pull data for daily meetings. Participate in launch reviews and quality reviews associated.

• Define and Develop Critical to Quality standards that address Customer Wants and Needs.

• Work with the Innovation teams, to drive key technologies into Ford Motor Company products.

• Develop Best in Class analysis based on customer feedback and meeting customer expectations.

• Lead to Develop Critical to Quality standards that address target Customer wants and needs.

• Strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to work well with cross-functional teams to deliver win-win results.

• Lead customer research clinics conducted by Ford Motor Company or our key suppliers, to solicit customer feedback.

• Lead Quality Improvement initiatives with supplier and Ford manufacturing facilities to improve quality.

• Working knowledge of automotive vehicle systems.

• Working knowledge of quality tools and processes.

• Occasional travel may be required.

• Knowledge of Robust Engineering Fundamentals

• Self-motivated, capable of providing a clear vision for success, and motivated to deliver results.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others as part of a team.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Knowledge of product development especially in Interior Components

• Ability to understand Customer Issues from around the GLOBE and help Design Teams in translating into Design and Manufacturing requirements.

• Understand and apply failure mode avoidance methods including Quality History, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs)

• Six Sigma Experience (Green Belt or Black Belt) a plus.

• Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

Additional Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Related Sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics)

  • 6+ months of experience in Engineering or technical field

  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab or Statistical tools).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Louisville, Kentucky.
