Southern Graphic Systems Head of Production, North America in Louisville, Kentucky

Description

Role

We are looking for an integrated Head of Content Production to oversee our North America studios. A process-led leader with experience mentoring and overseeing a team of producers in a fast-paced creative agency environment. An astute commercial thinker, capable of quickly assessing a request to identify risks and opportunities. A proactive problem solver who thinks on their feet to quickly communicate solutions... not dwell on problems. A keen cultural contributor who fosters a fun, empathetic and collaborative environment in cross-functional teams - always getting the best from people without fuss or friction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management and development of integrated producer & demand planning team of 6-10, with skills and experience in content production across various disciplines including (but not limited to) CGI, VFX, Film, Photography & Post Production.
  • Creation and management of regional talent black-book, for development of outsource and freelance relationships.
  • Definition and optimization of Content Studio production processes across 2-3 studios in North America, including (but not limited to) Demand Planning, Intake, Review & Approvals, Project Reconciliation, Invoicing & Accruals etc.
  • Intake and definition of early stage project budgets and/or ballparks against concepts in progress.
  • Preparation and review of project estimates, timing, resource plans, SoWs, MSAs, NDAs etc.
  • Assignment of projects and clients to producer team.
  • Oversight of workflow, including regular studio meeting cadences and collaboration across 2-3 studios in North America

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to manage, coach and lead teams of production artists and direct reports.
  • Ability to outline and develop best practices and processes - a leader, not a follower.
  • Ability to craft and review SOWs with experience in accurately identifying project risks.
  • Ability to quickly and effectively draft indicative project budgets in advance of concept approval.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to direct a team while promoting a positive morale in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite plus project management tools such as Shotgrid, Jira, Trello etc.
  • Having a point of view on the tools required by teams to ensure consistency in best practice for production management - what to use when, and why.

Nice to Have's

  • 10+ years of experience in an integrated content production environment.
  • Experience of pre/post-production & shooting of video content.
  • Background working in brand or packaging centric creative agencies.
  • Experience working in globally connected, creative production studios.
  • Interest or experience in the implementation of project management tools and systems.
  • Extensive black-book of talented industry contracts across multiple disciplines.
