Netflix Product Manager, Studio Messaging Platform in Los Gatos, California

Netflix is the world’s leading streaming entertainment service, with over 230 million paid memberships in over 190 countries, enjoying series, documentaries, and feature films across a wide variety of genres and languages.

The Content and Business Products (CBP) team builds a suite of tools to scale the operations behind taking a Netflix show from concept to streaming. We are looking for a platform product manager to shape the future of CBP messaging, notifications, and collaboration platform services. In this role, you'll guide a cross-functional team to deliver platform services and UX components to enable streamlined workflows and communications for our users. CBP builds products that are primarily used by internal employees, content creators, and partners, so experience working on enterprise applications is a plus.

As a Product Manager at Netflix, you will be expected to strategize, prioritize and execute projects. You should be comfortable at the hub of a fast-paced environment where you interface daily with cross-functional experts. You can build consensus and alignment but are not afraid to push ahead when there remain some critics and lead in the face of ambiguity.

This role can be based in our Los Angeles or Los Gatos offices or remotely from the West Coast/PST working hours. If remote-based, some travel will be required.

What you’ll be doing

  • Help shape the studio’s Workflow & Messaging platform strategy and North Star vision for Events, Notifications, and collaborative Communication services

  • Translate the messaging strategy into a product roadmap that balances the near-term needs of our partner teams and prioritizes what is most impactful over the long term for end users and the business

  • Lead a cross-functional team across design, engineering, and data science to deliver outstanding product solutions to enable event processing, notifications workflows, and collaborative communication.

  • Create strong partnerships with product teams, establishing continuous feedback loops to better understand their needs as they deliver solutions

  • Guide our product evolution to address the product life cycle, adoption, and migration experience, while providing clear guidance and recommendations to product teams

  • Engage and thrive in a healthy debate of ideas and communicate product plans broadly throughout the organization

  • Define how we will measure the success and effectiveness of our products and drive the execution and continuous evaluation of those metrics

Qualifications

  • Four years of Product Management experience

  • Experience contributing to the development of B2B2C or B2B enterprise services either as a product manager, designer, or engineer

  • Proficient in using data and qualitative insights to prioritize high-impact areas and measure success

  • Comfortable making decisions under uncertainty, particularly as we evolve our studio Workflow & Messaging Strategy

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in distilling complex technical topics into clear, compelling stories for your audience

  • Highly curious and fast learner, able to quickly orient and understand a complex domain

Please note that candidates will be asked to complete an exercise as a part of the application process.
