UCLA Health ISS Project Manager (flex-hybrid) in Los Angeles, California
Description
As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for
leading and coordinating technology-driven projects within the healthcare
industry, specifically focusing on the deployment and implementation of
electronic health record (EHR) systems and supporting infrastructure. Key
responsibilities include:
Project Management
Lead project planning, execution, and oversight from inception to completion
Develop project charters, status reports, budgets, schedules, and scope documents
Ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards
Manage resource allocation, cost estimation, and control
Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with business partners to define project scope and objectives
Communicate effectively with technical teams, operational business owners, and executive leadership
Facilitate team, stakeholder, and executive meetings
Risk and Issue Management
Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks
Maintain issues log and ensure timely resolution
Ensure compliance with PMO delivery requirements and procedures
Team Leadership
Guide project teams to meet objectives and hold members accountable
Build and maintain strong relationships with team members and stakeholders
Contribute to team performance and motivation
Technical Expertise
Oversee EHR implementation and integration with existing systems
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external partners
Documentation and Reporting
Create and maintain project documentation, including schedules, communication plans, and lessons learned
Develop and deliver presentations to various audiences, including executive management
Ensure consistent updates in the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool
The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational,
time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work
independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
simultaneously.
This flexible hybrid role allows for a blend of remote and on-site work, requiring presence on-site at least 10% of the time, within 24 hours of being asked to come on site, or as needed based on operational requirements. Please note, travel to the 'home office' location is not reimbursed. Each employee will complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager to outline expectations and ensure mutual understanding. These arrangements are periodically reviewed and may be adjusted or terminated as necessary.
Salary offers are based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The full salary range for this position is $ 102,500- $227,700 annually. The University anticipates offering a salary between the minimum and midpoint of this range.
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience that includes creating business requirements, project plans, project schedules and associated project materials
5+ years minimum experience in project management
Experience with supporting Electronic Medical Record (EMR) / Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementations from the application and infrastructure side
Expert understanding of project management and project management tools
Expert understanding of software development and infrastructure project lifecycles
Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and delegate
Technical writing skills producing clear and unambiguous deliverables
Expert usage of MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio)
Excellent communication skills as related to project management strategy, schedules, tasks, deliverables, risks, and issues.
PMP preferred
