We have created an exciting new role for an Underwriting Data Analyst within the International Accident & Health Team at Axis Capital. Given the range of innovative products and solutions the team now offers to our global clients, a creative approach to data presentation and harvesting will ensure that we maintain our industry leading position. As this function does not currently exist, it provides the candidate the creative space to design bespoke client solutions, while being given the ownership and flexibility to be accountable for ultimate delivery.
The role is based in London and will support a diverse European and International portfolio, with a team spread across Dublin, London and the United States. We are looking for an engaging, motivated individual with strong communication skills, problem solving skills and IT skills who will naturally enhance our dynamic team. The overarching responsibility is to own and manage all aspects of data for the Binding Authority Contracts and Financial Management. In addition, assisting with the collation, validation and analysis of all underwriting data required for regular reports will be a key component of the role.
Key Relationships
The role will require you to work closely and collaboratively within the unit with the Underwriters responsible for writing delegated business, as well as other functions across the organisation, such as Actuarial, Data Management, Exposure Management, Claims, Finance, Actuarial, Operations and Compliance functions to ensure the compliant and accurate processing and reporting of delegated business.
Key Responsibilities
Consolidate data from various data sources including IRIS database and create bespoke dashboards on PowerBi for the team
The jobholder produces accurate, complete, appropriate and timely standard data sets for use by Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, Reinsurance, Finance and reporting Departments.
Financial Management, including supporting underwriting business leaders to provide accurate and timely internal financial reporting data
Facility monitoring and adjustment of EPI’s, tracking and reporting on variances to Division and Syndicate business plans and reforecasting as required
Provide support to the underwriters and Actuarial Pricing Teams to calculate rate change and support internal product monitoring
Provide support to underwriters, Ceded-re and actuarial to collect and validate Outwards Reinsurance placement data
Support claims, reserving and finance to monitor Profit Commission accruals and validate profit commission payment requests from coverholders
The jobholder will create a number of regular reports into PowerBI.
The jobholder will perform analysis and identify data trends.
The jobholder is to assist in the completion of regulatory returns for Lloyd’s, where required
Point out any inconsistencies or issues with the data to management and help with solutions
Required Qualifications and Experience
3 years+ experience of working in the Lloyd’s market on Binding Authority business or other similar role.
Knowledge of general insurance
Proficient in all Microsoft packages including Excel
Proficient user of PowerBI
SQL
University degree
