The Senior Applications Engineer is responsible for interfacing with sales and customers to understand their technical needs and apply Aria Filtra’s solutions for membrane filtration capital equipment, temporary water treatment, and engineered upgrade solutions. In addition, the Senior Applications Engineer drives profitable business growth by timely responses to customer technical inquiries and facilitating the handover of an opportunity to a project. The Senior Applications Engineer is responsible for coaching and guiding Applications Engineers. This position is part of the Sales organization.

This role will require travel for up to 20% of the time.

This hybrid role is located at our office in London, ON. However, should you be outside of a commutable distance there is some flexibility with a remote opportunity.

Nonetheless, if a remote opportunity is being considered the applicant must be able to travel to the London ON office from time to time, additionally from the travel already expected for the role.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Develop, own, and lead technical proposal and bid development for complex membrane filtration (MF/UF/RO) capital equipment, temporary water treatment, and existing customer-engineered modifications/upgrades. You will be responsible for understanding customer technical needs, sizing equipment, developing drawings, costing, technical proposal writing, and balanced risk-taking.

  • Instill confidence in the Aria Filtra technical value proposition to customers by understanding their technical needs and influencing customers to select Aria Filtra for new capital equipment, mobile rentals, and engineered upgrades. You will have an opportunity to gather voice of customer and generate ideas for growth opportunities.

  • Guide and mentor Applications Engineers in technical proposal development, customer influence, and career growth.

  • Support the operations team in the execution of projects to ensure the technical requirements, scope, costing, and schedule are consistent with those proposed by Aria Filtra.

  • Identify, share, and execute additional opportunities for growth for Aria Filtra. You will have an opportunity to own process improvement initiatives. Lead or assist in the development of process sizing, proposal development, costing, and budgetary tools to improve the accuracy and speed of proposals to customers.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • BS degree in Chemical/Environmental/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

  • 10+ years’ experience in advanced water treatment process design

  • Experience performing process and equipment design calculations on low pressure membrane filtration and reverse osmosis equipment, including reading, interpreting, and influencing technical specifications and drawings for water treatment applications.

  • Experience interfacing with external water treatment customers in the Municipal or Industrial markets to understand technical needs.

  • Requires 20% travel. Must have no legal restrictions to travel between US and Canada.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with related technologies for pre-and post-membrane treatment such as dissolved air flotation, granular media filtration, clarifiers, lime softening, coagulation, de-gasifier, ion exchange, solids handling, or UV.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $100000 - $135000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
