As a Mechanical Designer, you will be:
Completing component level designs
Keeping supervisor regularly informed on progress and issues encountered.
Ensuring all designs are peer reviewed by technical lead or assigned mentor.
Supporting test planning, execution, and reporting as assigned and under supervision of test lead.
Participating in the generation of Research and Development opportunities, as well as other operational planning activities.
Focusing on:
Propulsion systems including power pack, engines, transmission, cooling, fuel, pneumatics, hydraulics, mission equipment.
Automotive powertrain systems - suspension, axles, steering, brakes, drivelines
Stowage, Covers, Guards and Access Panels (CGAP), AFES, NBC, Windshield and Washing Systems, Seats, Workstations, and unique interior mission equipment.
Education and Experience :
University Degree, College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or experience equivalence gained through working in the field of Mechanical Design or relevant engineering discipline
A minimum of 3 years of relevant automotive or mechanical design experience
Proficient in the use of 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages (Siemens NX - an asset)
Competent in analyzing Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
P. Eng. or ability to obtain P. Eng designation
Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others)
Possess/be able to acquire a valid passport, with the ability to travel both domestically and internationally
Ability to acquire and maintain a Canadian Security Clearance
