Job Description

AECOM is looking for an Air Quality Engineer with expertise in odor control, industrial ventilation, and air pollution to be based out of our Markham, Mississauga, Hamilton, Montreal, or Calgary offices. This position is a full-time role.

The position responsibilities will include but not limited to:

General

  • Understanding of various Industrial, Municipal and Chemical sector processes

  • Knowledge of odour control and air pollution control systems and concepts

  • Process calculations and equipment sizing

  • Equipment specifications development

  • Design concepts development

  • Preparation of technical documentation and reports

  • Work with internal project teams and external clients

  • Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope

  • Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories

  • Involvement with the project execution and client meetings

  • Involvement with QA/QC of the drawings and technical documents

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance

Field Work

  • Installation, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of the air monitoring equipment

  • Air flow, pressure and temperature field measurements

  • Coordination with equipment suppliers and laboratories

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years of project management, proposal writing, contract administration, business development, field work and client liaison or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years on air quality improvement projects, proposal writing, field work and client liaison experience

  • Professional engineering designation (P.Eng.) is preferable

  • Have the enthusiasm to lead and develop and empower a diverse group of professionals and support staff. This is your opportunity to seize the moment and arrive as a senior player in the Canadian and North America markets.

  • Excellent communications skills including report writing, oral presentations, and direct verbal communication

  • Knowledge and experience with the environmental, air quality and provincial government regulatory requirements related to air emissions and environmental permitting

  • Skills or experience in the following areas would be an asset: Pollution Control System design, Industrial Ventilation, Environmental Impact Assessments/Monitoring & Sampling Programs, Industrial Process, Odour Control Strategy

  • Proficient in common desktop packages, i.e. Word, Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD
