Our beta/benchmark platform, Bloomberg Index Services Ltd (BISL) is an outstanding provider of fixed income, inflation-linked, and swaps indices offering unmatched market coverage and a full suite of customized client solutions for benchmarking and informational needs. The BISL platform also includes a diverse family of alpha generating strategy indices that offer quick and easy access to out-performance sources and a quantitative way to express investment strategies, in markets that would otherwise be difficult to access. Index products are available across multiple asset classes including equities, fixed income, FX, commodities, derivatives, and alternative investments.

As a Team Leader in Index Data and Projects analyst you will be overseeing a group of index analysts focusing on the management of data for use in regulated benchmarks administered by Bloomberg Index Services Ltd (BISL). You will be working with new and existing, varied and complex data sets to contribute towards building a Golden Source repository of data for use in indices.

We'lltrust you to:

• Manage a team of individuals responsiblefor the daily production processes for the acquisition and quality controlof all datasets

• Work alongside business stakeholders todevelop data assessment frameworks, data management best practices andpolicies;

• Collaborate globally with internalstakeholders, such as Product, Sales, and Engineering, to help ensure BISLis meeting the needs of its clients

• Drive projects to rationalize,cleanse or migrate existing data sets; and to

• Create proposals for derived data setsand overlays in accordance with requirements of BISL proprietary benchmarkmethodologies.

• Oversee the onboarding of data,implementing index data quality assurance processes for operational andindex back-testing requirements and to satisfy BISL’s data sufficiency andcontrol framework obligations under UK BMR regulation.

• Design and operate business intelligenceprocesses to assess the ongoing health and functioning of our dataenvironment and manage any subsequent coordination with internal andexternal data providers.

• Demonstrate strong domain knowledge insystematic data analysis and the ability to coordinate withmulti-disciplinary and regional teams.

You’ll need to have:

*Please note we use years of experience as a guidebut we certainly will consider applications from all candidates who are able todemonstrate the skills necessary for the role.

• 3+years of direct or indirect leadership experience - eg leading projects,mentoring people, etc..

• 3+years of work experience in the financial services industry, includingexchanges, market data providers or financial institutions

• Experiencein data management principles and technologies - data modelling, dataanalysis, statistics, and data integration

• Effectivelocal and remote team management (talent development, evaluations, hiring,training, oversight of performance and competence)

• Projectmanagement - planning, stakeholder, tracking, PI or other delivery process

• Experiencein, and conceptual understanding of, managing and analysing large andcomplex data sets (assessment, QC checks & overrides, third partymanagement, due diligence)

• Experienceof devising and implementing standards, guidelines, and policy for data

• Solidunderstanding and experience in of databases & database technologiesand scripting & tooling for efficient interrogation

• Knowledge of indices, index regulation orsystematic products

• Translationof research and analysis into implementable technical requirements andspecifications

• Abilityto drive and oversee multiple parallel projects and deadlines.

We’dlove to see:

• Python or other useful programmingknowledge (for data manipulation)

• Understanding the role of andrequirements of a Production/Operations team (index or IT)
