Job description

In this role as Tax Manager, you will report into the Head of International Tax and own the tax reporting and forecasting process as well as working on different internal projects.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Managing accurate and timely filing of Corporate Income (CT) tax returns for all group UK companies and foreign companies (except US), including liaising with the CT supplier.

  • Oversees return to provision calculations, management of payments on account, group relief loss utilization, double tax relief claims and corporate interest restrictions.

  • Managing the R&D tax claim process (with external advisors).

  • Review Tax Notes of Statutory Accounts.

  • Owning the tax reporting and forecasting process.

  • Oversee double tax relief process, including tax clearances, W8BEN and residence certificates.

  • Assist with US GAAP global provision as it pertains to international entities.

  • Assist with IFRS statutory audit.

  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors and tax authorities.

  • Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations globally, assess their impact on the company, and recommend necessary actions.

  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance tax efficiency and compliance effectiveness.

  • Managing indirect tax compliance

  • Prepare tax filing workpapers and coordinate VAT return filing with external service providers

  • Prepare tax filing and file UK VAT Group return and other jurisdictions in house

  • Maintain library of VAT documentation.

  • Manage VAT queries and correspondence initiated by governmental

Key requirements

  • Five to eight years of combined tax experience in public accounting firm, corporate tax department of multinational company, or combination thereof.

  • Experience with the VAT regimes of United Kingdom, OSS, Switzerland, Australia, India, South Africa and Switzerland is desired.

  • Solid experience in UK corporate tax compliance & tax accounting, including working with current and deferred taxes.

  • Highly skilled with software applications including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive. Experience with NetSuite is desired.

  • Qualified Accountant/Tax Advisor (ACCA, ACA, CTA or equivalent) - part qualified may be considered depending on experience.

  • A self-motivated individual who can proactively initiate and lead projects to completion.

  • Proficiency in conducting tax analysis and preparing tax workings across various UK tax technical areas, demonstrating the ability to meet deadlines and drive process improvements.

  • Ability to perform multiple concurrent and diversified tasks with little supervision and with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects to meet tight deadlines.

  • Great organizational and analytical skills.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to a fast-paced culture and changing priorities

  • Organized, analytical and methodical with great attention to detail.

Nice to have

  • Additional international tax exposure advantageous.
