Position Summary

As an Events Coordinator at St. Pancras, you take responsibility for group bookings and less complex meetings & events. The Event Coordinator will support the department with day-to-day tasks including supporting Event Managers events and handling and building groups that form part of more complex events, organising and chairing weekly operations meetings and acting as the first point of contact for the events department. The role also includes some inventory duties, such as balancing systems, data collection and reservation duties.

  • Knowledge of overall hotel operations is essential for this role.

  • Serve the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a continuing relationship and loyalty to Marriott.

  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels; effectively respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.

  • Ability to manage the diaries, incoming mail, emails, and communications of key stakeholders.

  • Excellent and timely telephone and communication skills and methods, presented in a professional and on brand standard.

  • Prepare all group documentation to the satisfaction of the customer and pro-actively identify opportunities to up sell to the customer. Conduct show rounds where appropriate and all event/group walk in’s, all follow up and re solicitation for future business.

  • Carry out other duties as may be required to ensure the hotel operation is properly maintained to provide total guest satisfaction.

  • Able to process a group in both Opera and Marsha to include setting up a group block, naming a group, making changes, cancelling a group in both systems, and changing room rates.

  • Meeting, greeting, and showing around group planners.

  • Support the Event Sales Manager with loading in enquiries to OPERA.

  • Send out daily amendments for the events team to the total hotel.

  • Update electronic signage for the event spaces.

  • Follow all hotel and company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure a high level of service throughout the complete transaction and through co-ordination with the Regional Sales Office, Hotel Departments and customer, takes total responsibility of the finalization of the assigned group.

Required to have:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.

  • Previous experience in Event Management.

  • Experience in hospitality.
