Amazon’s Carrier Managers play a central role in our global business. They keep our complex, international supply chains working seamlessly and efficiently. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders across Amazon, from Operational teams who are fulfilling customer orders to Retail teams and everything in between. You’ll help us optimise our supply chains to make our customer experience even better and our business more energy and cost efficient.

Key job responsibilities

Your team's responsibilities:

  • Continuous Improvement Management with carriers

  • Partner with teams to advise on and manage operational challenges

  • Support the planning and organisation of complex projects

  • Support Contract management and contract compliance for existing and new routes/carrier

  • Recommend Line Haul carrier allocation to routes/replacements (based on optimum of cost and performance)

  • Prepare and participate recurrent Ops calls, business reviews, QBRs, Customer Service workshops (to support the improvement plans)

  • Develop relationships with Line Haul providers that facilitate communication and visibility across Amazon’s line haul network

To be successful in this role, you need a passion for making data driven decisions which will have direct impact on customer experience. Some keys to your success are the ability to be an effective communicator to various audiences. The ability to remain flexible and adapt to learning new tools and systems is instrumental in your role on the team. Our environment is deadline driven, fast paced, and requires you to be detail-oriented and comfortable interacting and working with multiple teams (business and technical).

A day in the life

Being a Carrier Manager for Amazon involves lots of problem solving. You’ll work with a number of teams to navigate challenges as and when situations impact our network. You’ll spend time resolving temporary issues and looking at the bigger picture to drive Amazon towards achieving new objectives. This role is both proactive and reactive, and you’ll have the opportunity to help forecast and plan for new projects.

As a Carrier Manager, you’ll need to help with both on-the-ground tasks and more tactical work. No two days will be the same. Having so much variety in your role means you’ll be able to learn something new every day.

This role is based at one of our European headquarters. There may be flexibility to choose your location or work remotely on occasion.

About the team

Amazon couldn’t deliver at pace without the Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team. As part of ATS, you’ll be welcomed into a diverse team that plays a central role in our success. Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Experience identifying and resolving complex issues

  • Experience in analyzing data to drive decisions

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Experience in supply chain
