About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for an Carpenter to join our team Engineering at Jumeirah Carlton Tower.. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
Calculates quantity of materials needed, selects stock, tools and supplies for applicable repairs
Repairs partitions, doors, windows, floors, furniture and building framework consisting of wood or metal, using power tools such as a planer, sander, saws and drills or hand tools such as planes, chisels, hammers, rasps, saws and related equipment.
Measures and marks in prescribed dimensions using rulers, tape measures, calipers, compass’ and marking pencils to guide cutting operations
Responsible for constructing, repairing and maintaining wooden structures such as furniture, equipment, walls, partitions and other parts of the buildings; using hand and power tools according to written and oral instructions.
To maintain and repair all doors, windows and fittings.
To maintain, repair and install locks.
To carry out fabrication and installation works.
Ensure strict control is adhered to when receiving and returning keys and whilst in his/ her possession.
To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform / attire, name badge, maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards.
To provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Experience using woodworking power tools such as a planer, saws and drills. Carpenter’s hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, files, squares and calipers, blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, ladders, scaffolds and saw horses.Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
