Overview
The ITLS Department seeks to hire an Academic Advisor that will work with all of the department's academic programs, including PhD, EdS, MA, MEd, MS, BS, minors, certificates, and endorsement programs. The position offers opportunities for growth and career development, with its primary duties including support to students and aid to grow the department's academic programs. The position provides program related support to students, the department head, graduate and undergraduate program directors, faculty, and business services while acting as the Academic Advisor and Graduate Program Coordinator for the department.

Responsibilities
Academic Advisor Responsibilities:
Manage all outwardly facing documents and the department presence on the web and in University systems
Provides advising services in person, by phone, via zoom, by slack, or by email
Provides accurate information related to curriculum, graduation requirements, and university policies and procedures
Creates semester-by-semester graduation plan for students and monitors progress toward their declared major
Assists students in making responsible and informed decisions impacting academic progress
Graduate Program Coordinator Responsibilities:
Ensures adherence to graduate student and department policies and procedures
Facilitates processing of graduate program applications and monitors student progress through their entire program
Conducts ongoing evaluation of all graduate programs, including data collection and reporting to program directors
Collaborates with faculty, students, and business services to coordinate
Department Support Responsibilities:
Travels to support recruiting at schools, fairs, and no more than two academic conferences per year
Facilitates discussion with program directors on updates to website, recruiting materials, program planning sheets, as well as program improvement
Trains peer advisor, staff assistant, and web and social doctoral assistant on academic programs
Plan ITLS Awards Program, ITLS Dept. Socials, and ITLS department cultural events throughout the year
Works to build a learning community, network, and support system among ITLS community members
Makes appropriate referrals and develops referral resources to other University and non-university resources
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
