The Siemens DI Sales organization ideally focuses on providing solutions tailored to the specific needs of companies operating across a multitude of discrete, process, and hybrid industries. The CTO Customer Collaboration organization plays a crucial role in understanding needs of forward-thinking customers, positioning Siemens as a technology leader to drive digital transformation today and tomorrow for and with our customers, aligning the value of innovative and evolving Siemens solutions with customer pain points, and deploying a combination of existing, evolving and exploring product portfolio elements (HW, SW, Services) as functional solutions at customer sites, continuously learning and constantly improving.

As we embark on an ambitious journey of digital transformation, we are seeking a dynamic Senior Key Expert to spearhead our Digital Transformation Pioneering & Deployment team. This pivotal role is at the heart of our mission to redefine our Industrial Operations X Innovation Portfolio and develop and deploy novel Enterprise Solution Architectures with innovation customers and partners, driving innovation through digital excellence and collaboration.

This position will be basedremotely and can be available anywhere within the continental United States.

You’ll * make an impact by:*

  • Execute technical incubation and deployment projects, working closely with cross-functional teams and external integration partners to ensure timely and successful implementation.

  • Develop 'hot fixes' as needed, implement functional workarounds to address potential system issues and ensure smooth operation of deployed solutions.

  • Lead the rollout of novel solutions at co-innovation customers, driving adoption and promoting best practices within the market/region.

  • Document demands, gaps, and required workarounds for existing products, providing technical feedback to product owners for continuous improvement

  • Make a difference for our customers and Siemens by applying innovative technologies to industrial operations

  • Run unique combinations of PLM, Simulation, AI, Control, Edge automation, asset management and data integration as functional and replicable solutions, proofing technical feasibility and business impact

  • Develop and deliver demonstrations, gather feedback & lessons learned from customers to identify areas of improvement and optimization

  • Manage and own customer co-innovation by establishing a trusted technical expert relationship with strategic partners/customers.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical, electrical engineering, computer science or IT related degree program with a focus in automation or simulation.

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing processes and production operations in a variety of manufacturing industries

  • 10+ years of Systems & Application Engineering, technical consulting, assessment, and customer co-innovation experience including: proof of concepts, defining requirements and scope, as well as hands-on deployment projects.

  • Hands-on experience in implementing complex automation solutions involving Software Defined Control, Middleware for real time applications, Asset & Data Management, Industrial AI, Edge platform & applications, Cybersecurity, Automation Engineering, simulation

  • Proven record of accomplishment of delivering complex innovation projects in manufacturing environments, combining existing, evolving, and novel product portfolio building blocks, integrating multiple products to cross-functional solutions across the organization to deliver solutions that generate customer value.

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++, scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell.

  • Willingness to travel 25% (domestic/international).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters' degree in aforementioned related fields

  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (primarily Docker) & hyperconverged infrastructure (VMware vSAN, Nutanix, Azure HCI) for optimized resource utilization & management of infrastructure components in automation environments

  • Experience in deploying & managing industrial sensors, actuators & other IoT devices, device discovery & asset management. Familiarity with ServiceNow for integrating asset management processes with IT service management

  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, S7, Modbus, MQTT

  • Knowledge of real-time communication technologies & standards, e.g., TSN, PTP; middleware solutions designed for high-performance and real-time data processing, e.g., DS, ZeroMQ, AMQP

  • Proficient in data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data integration techniques. Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka). Ability to design & implement data pipelines for real-time & batch processing.

  • Familiarity with database query languages (e.g., PostgreSQL, GraphQL)

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deploying and managing industrial infrastructure.

  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools like Git, Jenkins, or Terraform for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).

  • Hands-on experience with Enterprise Kubernetes platforms (e.g., RedHat OpenShift) or container orchestration and microservices deployment.

  • The pay range for this position is $105,910 - $181,560 and the annual incentive will be 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
