Come join the fast-paced RWD Hybrid and 10R RWD Transmission Team! We are responsible for providing exciting customer experience vehicles like the Mustang, Bronco, F150 Raptor, and Super Duty product lines!

We are looking for an all-around RWD Automatic and Hybrid Transmission Systems Engineer in Product Development. The primary job function will be system optimization, development, and issue resolution for the 24MY-30MY projects identified for 10R and Module Hybrid Transmission Systems. We are looking for a motivated systems engineer who is capable of immediate participation and design ownership of our automatic transmission systems responsibilities. We need someone with a persistent engineering curiosity to learn and solve complex problems. As a part of our RWD transmission team, you will be directly responsible for both the future model year development as well as the current model year improvements of Ford Motor Company's 10R and Module Hybrid Transmission Systems.

The role requires an engineer capable of a structured root cause problem solving approach with good communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

What you'll do...

  • Serve as a PD engineer responsible for 10 speed RWD and RWD hybrid propulsion systems and the specific transmission components and assemblies

  • Take ownership of the component, work hand in hand with specific component engineers

  • Work with Ford analytical teams, component engineers and suppliers to define component duty cycles

  • Lead teams through validation of components and sub assemblies

  • Lead root cause investigations

  • Define ES Specs for componentsand suppliers.

  • Complete design assessments including design rules, assembly stacks, print updates

  • Must be in Livonia Michigan 3 days a week or more depending on specific testing/hardware needs.

  • Must be approved to travel globally.

You'll have...

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

2 years of Automotive or transmission or powertrain experience.

2 years of Experience with CAD, CAE/FEA, Fluid CFD and another analytical tools.

Even better, you may have...

Master's degree in Engineering.

Ford design/release experience preferred.

Electrical component or electrical system experience preferred.

This position is a range of salary grades SG5-SG8 .
