Defense Contract Management Agency Security Specialist in Linthicum, Maryland

Responsibilities Implements policies, standards, procedures and security method, and their applications. Prepares local security operating procedures and supplements to agency personnel. Serves as the security focal point between government agencies, customers and contractors. Prepares internal operating procedures for various assigned locations within the agency and ensures that they are in compliance with security regulations. Maintains contact with military intelligence, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and local law enforcement to obtain the most current data available. Prepares emergency plans pertaining to sabotage, civil disturbance, terrorism, threats and insurgencies which affect the protection of agency personnel, property, and facilities. Directs and monitors the continuing reduction of classified holdings and reports the results of annual reviews and purges to higher level management. Provides assistance in classification issues and coordinates with the appropriate activities to resolve classification issues. Reviews classification decisions based on the classification guides. Provides assistance to the Facility Security Manager in protecting classified information presented at meetings and briefings. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for a Security Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in, or related to, this position. To qualify for the NH-03 level, specialized experience must be at the NH-02 or GS-11 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Creditable specialized experience includes: Providing guidance of policy and procedures relating to personnel clearance and access. Developing or conducting training to acquaint personnel in physical, information, and personnel security matters. Safeguarding personnel, physical and intellectual property, systems, and data. Conducting security inspections or writing about physical security matters for Special Access Program or Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
