Position Overview:

As an Open Maintenance Lead at our facility, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing diverse operations within our dynamic maintenance department, dedicated to ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of our manufacturing assets, particularly in the realm of rail vehicle production. Your responsibilities will include supervising maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, and meeting production schedules efficiently. You will lead by example, demonstrating expert knowledge in tool usage, work order management, and compliance with safety protocols, while fostering a collaborative environment where assembly techniques and procedures are effectively communicated to team members. Your role will be crucial in maintaining a safe, productive, and high-energy work environment conducive to achieving operational excellence.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Provide hands-on preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation of complex manufacturing equipment such as: welding robots, CNC machines, hydraulic presses, remote-controlled equipment movers, lifting jacks, cranes, motors, pumps, and other industrial equipment.

  • Analyze technical equipment problems on-site and complete repairs and maintenance.

  • Complete set-up and start-up of new equipment

  • Conduct routine scheduled preventive maintenance activities.

  • Maintain accuracy of spare parts inventory.

  • Support maintenance of user documentation for processes and equipment.

  • Safely use hand and power tools.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • You have repaired mechanical industrial equipment and systems within the past 3-5 years

  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, loop drawings, hydraulic diagrams, P&IDs, and blueprints.

  • Experience with basic electrical systems.

  • Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.

  • Ability to solve mechanical problems or failures.

  • Previous experience in maintaining large, sophisticated capital equipment.

  • High school education, GED or associate degree (AS) in a related mechanical or technical field, or vocational training/certification in a related discipline.
