The position is with the University of Kentucky’s mechanical engineering program at the extended campus in Paducah, KY. The College of Engineering administers ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree programs in mechanical engineering and chemical engineering at Paducah, with a total of nine full-time faculty. The position is a 9-month appointment in the Special Title Series (tenure-eligible). Faculty in the Special Title Series has a typical distribution of effort of 70% teaching, 20% research, and 10% service. Applicants should have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education and the motivation to sustain a program of independent research and scholarship, the direction of undergraduate and graduate student research, and other independent and collaborative research endeavors. Research collaborations with local industry and faculty on the Lexington campus are encouraged. The anticipated start date is August 2024.Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or a closely related field). Candidates with specialties in all areas of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering will be considered. Candidates with teaching interests in Thermal-fluids, Experimentation, and/or Capstone Design are encouraged to apply. Candidates with a Professional Engineering (PE) license are preferred.
