Job Description: Senior Director; Bioanalytical Services

• As a Manager, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.

• To have full P&L and budget responsibility for our Lenexa Bioanalytical Business, including directing operational management, cost control, facility management, regulatory oversight, project management, scheduling and hiring plans.

• Responsibility for driving the oversight & management of sales opportunities brought by IDS-BD staff to ensure accurate and timely closings of Contracts and Change Orders. Duties will also include negotiating commercials with clients on price, strategic collaborations, credit terms, etc.

• Work with IDS-Contract Services staff to ensure that legal agreements /Change orders are reviewed and signed in a timely fashion. Will also service as a signatory on EU Bioanalytical contracts.

• Work with Bioanalytical Projects Analysis staff to ensure appropriate metrics are being captured and reported to reflect underlying business performance and provide support for financial metrics of the business

• To serve as commercial leader for the Lenexa Bioanalytical Business through:

  1. The presentation of financial information & metrics to local management and general staff as applicable;

  2. Implement financial principles to decision points (i.e. cost-benefit analyses, Business Plans, etc);

  3. Structure management interactions to enhance governance of projects and business.

• To assist Finance personnel in the implementation and enforcement of financial controls and processes in the Bioanalytical business in a fashion that minimizes disruption to the operations.

• To develop, through working with local management & global bioanalytical leadership, a 3 year strategic plan for the Lenexa Bioanalytical Business and modify as appropriate.

• To lead expansion/investment planning initiatives in collaboration with Divisional Leadership Team.

• To provide broad scientific oversight and guidance for bioanalytical services globally as commensurate with the post – holders’ experience and qualification.

• May be required to lead or assist in the expansion of our bioanalytical capabilities globally either through acquisition or organic growth

• To support the integration and collaboration between the Lenexa Bioanalytical Business and functional departments within ICON, e.g. Clinical Pharmacology Units, Scientific Services including data management/SAS programming, pharmacokinetics etc.

• To ensure local compliance with regulatory standards required of a bioanalytical facility in each jurisdiction including local legislation on health and safety, hazardous material handling, ISO compliance and regulatory certification.

• *Travel (approximately 20-30%) Domestic and/or international.

• Undertake other reasonably related duties as assigned essential.
