Position Summary

As a Portfolio Manager your responsibilities include supporting the portfolio group leader in the I&R portfolio management process, maximizing the value created by our R&D organization. You will provide a structured and integrated portfolio view, enabling effective decision-making, prioritization, and resource allocation. Ensuring alignment between SBU, R&D, and driving an integrated portfolio management approach is crucial. You will also oversee the I&R Portfolio cycle and key meetings, while continuously improving the portfolio management structure, approach, and tools.

A Day in the Life of a Portfolio Manager

  • Drive strategic alignment in the Institute I&R Portfolio, identifying gaps and integrating other priorities (sustainability, costs, safety, etc.)

  • Proactively contribute to shaping the I&R targets

  • Drive alignment on portfolio priorities within the defined area, analyzing feasibility and available resources, and facilitating discussions

  • Lead portfolio and project governance routines with Institute heads and LT, defining meeting scope, purpose, attendance, and frequency

  • Ensure portfolio reviews and project governance meetings deliver required output and decisions

  • Provide regular overview of I&R portfolio analysis to leadership and key stakeholders, flagging gaps and deviations vs. plan

  • Integrate transversal programs and innovation acceleration activities into a consolidated portfolio view

  • Provide regular overview of R&D resources, flagging gaps and deviations vs. plan

  • Contribute to R&D budget building and control, cost allocation, and reporting

  • Ensure compliance and adherence with relevant standards and guidelines for the I&R process through internal checks and training/coaching

  • Lead and develop a team of Specialists

What will make you successful

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in various roles within I&R/R&D

  • Experience in portfolio and/or project management

  • Proficiency in setting up and coordinating key events involving senior stakeholders

  • Strong leadership skills in a networking environment

  • High level of project management skills, including the ability to adapt and utilize new or alternative approaches
