As Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting throughout the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. What you get to do every day
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

Proven knowledge of GAAP Accounting

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
