Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Staff Accountant will oversee daily accounting tasks such as reconciliations, journal entries, processing IRS tax payments, and other related activities in the casino gaming industry. The ideal Staff Accountant will have prior gaming industry experience, reside in Las Vegas market, and have 2+ years of accounting experience.

The Staff Accountants Responsibilities:

• Oversee all IRS tax payments, ensuring compliance with the appropriate regulations.

• Perform reconciliations of all accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies promptly.

• Prepare journal entries as needed for a variety of transactions.

• Facilitate the month-end close procedures, including preparing financial statements and reports.

• Ensure that all financial transactions are correctly recorded, filed, and reported.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

• Assist the gaming audit team in their audit and reconciliation process.

• Collaborate with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts.

• Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.

• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and financial reports.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in the role of Staff Accountant or similar position.

• Proficiency in Excel Formulas and Microsoft Excel is required.

• Candidates must have excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.

• Ability to work in a team as well as independently is required.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required.

• Gaming experience is highly preferred.
