    Overview of the Role:

  • This position supports the accounting department for the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial results and reporting in accordance with accounting guidelines. 

  • Performs account reconciliations and general ledger analysis upon completion of month-end close tasks to confirm accuracy in accordance with US GAAP.

  • Assist in the year-end audit with the external auditors and third-party tax preparers, by reviewing and providing information and support.

  • Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls including identifying opportunities for process improvements.

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of the consolidated results in accordance with US GAAP, utilizing the company’s current CRM software (OneStream).

  • Contribute in monthly financial close with a strong focus on the following

  • Intercompany eliminations management and tracking, ensuring accurate accounting and financial reporting.

  • Manage sales tax accounting, registration, business licenses and other registrations through the Avalara License Management software, identifying areas of improvement.

  • Manage tax payments to federal and state taxing authorities on a timely basis and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Bank reconciliations, prepaid regulatory, prepaid expenses journal entries and accruals, accrued federal, state, and local taxes and related tax expense.

  • Manage the information quarterly and yearly information sent to our third-party tax preparer for the tax provision.

  • Manage the information required for the yearly insurance renewal, working directly with internal departments and Company’s third-party insurer.

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of account reconciliations and analysis as assigned, identifying potential issues, and following up with resolutions or corrective action.

  • Prepare insurance information required for the yearly insurance renewal and coverage requirements, including working with cost accounting for requested information and timely preparation.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement footnote support and documentation.

  • Prepare information for the annual budget for the insurance.

  • Recommend, design, and assist with implementing any department controls and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.

  • Assist in the annual budget process as needed. (prepaid regulatory, prepaid expenses federal, state foreign tax accruals and related expenses).

  • Protects the company’s value by keeping all information confidential.

  • Regular attendance is required to maintain functions of the job.

    Successful Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred and 3+ years of accounting work experience. Bachelor’s degree in Finance will be considered with requisite accounting work experience.

  • Excellent PC & system skills.

  • Experience in public accounting a plus.

  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and finance concepts.

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel and Word..

  • Strong intuitive, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Results oriented

  • Capable of managing multiple projects

  • Ability to interpret and bring meaning to data reviewed
