Water Street Mission Director of Dental Services / Dentist in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Job Summary: Responsible for the management of the dental office, supervision of staff, oversight of equipment, ordering supplies, and maintenance. Examining, diagnosing, and providing dental treatment to the WSHS dental patients.

FLSA: Part Time (24 hours) Non-exempt OR Full Time (32 hours), Exempt

Essential Functions:

Culture and Values

• Share the Good News of Jesus Christ in words and actions with people we serve, communicating hope and dignity.

• Walk alongside fellow WSM staff in Christian community as we journey toward maturity.

• Encourage restoration in the lives of coworkers and guests, recognizing we are each restored by God to become restorers.

• Work in full coordination with other WSM staff at all times to identify, report and respond appropriately to any potential threats to the safety and wellbeing of guests.

Role Specific Responsibilities

• Management and oversight of the dental department.

• Perform dentistry within the scope of a licensed dentist.

• Reflect Biblical principles in working relationships with others.

• Involved in continuous quality improvement of dental clinic services.

• Keep the Senior VP apprised of critical issues.

• Update and oversee procedures to ensure compliance with various state, local, and federal regulations.

• Oversight of the Electronic Health Record.

• Recruit and oversee volunteers, along with their policies and expectations.

• Work with the case managers from WSM in providing dental services to guests.

• Assist in building and the maintaining of professional relationships within Lancaster dental community.

• Provide oral presentations and represent WSHS at local dental events to promote volunteerism.

Other duties pertaining to the essential functions to assure the smooth functioning of the dental clinic.

Supervision (if appropriate)

• Provide oversight to the dental clinical staff

• Oversight of dental students and volunteer teams

• Assure compliance by dental staff and volunteers of policies established by the WSHS.

• Consultation and training for WSM staff with health-related issues on campus.

Education and Experience:

• DDS or DMD degree from an Accredited Dental School.

• Licensed to practice dentistry in Pennsylvania and meets all applicable Pennsylvania State requirements.

• Maintain required continuing education credits as required by the state of Pennsylvania.

• Share applicable information learned at seminars and meeting with team.

• Maintain membership in American Dental Association.

Reports To: Senior Vice President, Health Services

Key Internal Relationships: WSM Vice Presidents & Directors, Health Services Team
