LOCATION: Lancaster General Hospital and varied sites/varied locations in Lancaster, PA

SCHEDULE: PRN (4 hours per week). Varied days, some weekend hours, no on-call, no holidays. Hours can vary between 7am-11:30pm.

Summary:

• Position Summary:

• Under indirect supervision, provides radiological care for the purpose of diagnostic and or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Patient care includes care to patients in the following age groups: neonatal birth to 30 days , pediatric 30 days through 12 years , adolescent 13 through 18 years , adult 19 through 64 years , and geriatric 65 years and above .

• Qualified individuals must have the ability with or without reasonable accommodation to perform the following duties:

• Under indirect supervision of a diagnostic imaging technologist, performs all routine diagnostic procedures through proper patient positioning, technique selection, application of immobilization and provides any necessary radiation protection.

• Receives requests orders, checking for special instructions from the requesting physicians, consulting with radiologists as necessary. Responsible for required documentation and patient history. Documents other information as required.

• Greets patients, confirms their identification, performing the correct procedures as directed. Completely explains the procedure to the patient and family if present as directed.

• Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required. Performs other paper work as applicable.

• The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

• Performs visual preventative safety inspections. Records quality control activities. Reports equipment conditions to Quality Control Materials Manager or appropriate personnel.

• Maintains necessary inventory supplies for assigned workstation, rotating stock to eliminate outdated items.

• Participates in the clinical education of Radiology students as required.

• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Minimum Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma GED

• Must be a student of an AMA-approved school of radiological technology.

• CPR certification.

• Enrolled in a college radiography program as a student in good standing with the college.

• Senior student of an AMA-approved school of radiological technology.

• Attention Concentration:

• The position requires the ability to attend to more than one aspect of a situation simultaneously. It is highly likely that multiple task demands are going to be required of the individual at the same time.

• New Learning and Memory:

• The position requires that an individual be able to learn new tasks quickly and effectively. change frequently. The ability to understand and carry out detailed, involved instructions in mandatory.

• Problem Solving, Reasoning and Creative Thinking:

• The position deals with issues or problems that often require thoughtful reasoning before arriving at approaches or solutions. Some independent thought, planning or origination of options and solutions is necessary. The individual must have the ability to apply principles of reasoning and problem solving to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

• Communication: Ability to exchange information with others clearly and concisely; to present ideas, facts and technical information.

• Interpersonal relations: Ability to maintain relationships that facilitate task accomplishment; to cooperate and resolve conflicts; to recognize needs and be sensitive of others.

Credentials:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

• H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
