As a part of the team, you will be tasked with developing engineering solutions for specific projects, particularly focusing on short to medium span bridge projects for our national clients. You will work closely with professionals from Engineering, CAD, and the Marketing/Sales and Operations teams to collectively achieve the company's shared goals and commercial objectives. About the Role: This role will be based out of our West Chester, OH office. Responsibilities of a Staff Engineer include: Design and Technical Support: Provide project-specific design services, with a particular focus on Contech's bridge products. This involves preparation of engineering drawings and calculations, review of project plans, development of project solutions, and offering technical advice to assist the field sales team in seamlessly integrating Contech's products into site plans. Structural Analysis: Perform structural analysis and design of bridge elements, include superstructures, foundations, and retain walls. Specifications: Demonstrate a working knowledge and familiarity with governing specifications covering Contech's products. Assist in the development, writing, and modification of such specifications and potentially serving on technical committees to enhance these specifications. Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with in-house engineers, CAD Techs, Sales Team members, and external engineers in specifying and designing Contech's products. Offer technical support to the manufacturing team as needed to ensure the proper fabrication of products. Communication: Handle inquiries from the field sales team, outside consultants, and plant personnel by providing competent technical advice and input. Standards and Best Practices: Maintain engineering standards, policies, best practices, and procedures to contribute to risk management efforts. Assist in development of training programs and materials for Contech's products. Aid in writing and development of technical papers and product literature to support and promote Contech's products. Professional Development: Maintain knowledge and certifications in the civil/structural engineering field by attending industry trade shows, continuing education courses, and seminars, as necessary. Field Support: Travel to job sites to provide technical support, consultation, and evaluation related to Contech's products. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with a strong preference for a degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis. EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification or ability to obtain EIT within first year of employment preferred. Entry-level candidates will be considered, 1-year in civil engineering projects preferred.
