Job Summary:
A clinical pharmacy specialist plays a crucial role in patient care within a healthcare setting, typically a hospital or clinic. Their responsibilities extend beyond those of a traditional pharmacist. Here are some key aspects of what they do:
Responsibilities:
Serve as a clinical resource to providers
Case management consultation as requested by providers and other members of the healthcare team
Completion of population health initiatives (e.g., drugs to avoid in the elderly, HEDIS, drug interaction)
Serve as a vaccine coordinator for the practice (ensure compliance with government and Bloom vaccine policies and procedures)
Present clinical education to providers and team
Create clinical resources for providers and team
Precept pharmacy students
Qualifications:
PharmD or BSPharm
Current Colorado pharmacist license in good standing
Completion of PGY1 and/or PGY2 pharmacy residency
BCPS, BCACP, BCGP, or BCPP (at hire or within 3 years of hire date)
BLS
Immunization certification

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. The pay range for this role in the state of Colorado typically falls between $110,000 - $125,000 annually with the potential for performance-based bonuses and other benefits. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and location within the state.
