Job Summary:  

A clinical pharmacy specialist plays a crucial role in patient care within a healthcare setting, typically a hospital or clinic. Their responsibilities extend beyond those of a traditional pharmacist. Here are some key aspects of what they do:

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a clinical resource to providers

  • Case management consultation as requested by providers and other members of the healthcare team

  • Completion of population health initiatives (e.g., drugs to avoid in the elderly, HEDIS, drug interaction)

  • Serve as a vaccine coordinator for the practice (ensure compliance with government and Bloom vaccine policies and procedures)

  • Present clinical education to providers and team

  • Create clinical resources for providers and team

  • Precept pharmacy students

Qualifications:

  • PharmD or BSPharm

  • Current Colorado pharmacist license in good standing

  • Completion of PGY1 and/or PGY2 pharmacy residency

  • BCPS, BCACP, BCGP, or BCPP (at hire or within 3 years of hire date)

  • BLS

  • Immunization certification

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. The pay range for this role in the state of Colorado typically falls between $110,000 - $125,000 annually with the potential for performance-based bonuses and other benefits. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and location within the state.
