Summary About the position: This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 40 hours per week. Job is a regular fulltime position with benefits. Responsibilities Serves as the primary technical expert preforming gaming machine maintenance and customer support functions at base level. Works under the supervision of the Regional Gaming Program Manager. Duties involve troubleshooting gaming devices/kiosks/software, repairing and installing gaming machine hardware and software. Maintain gaming operations to include gaming machine functionality, computer hardware/software, peripherals and services. Operate proprietary applications, which include gaming accounting software, coin-less software, and other commercial software products for the Windows operating system. Serves as a principal resource for gaming operations day-to-day maintenance and technology functions. Maintains accurate and up to date records of events, malfunctions, repairs to all gaming related devices/kiosks, hardware/software, and updates that relate to gaming machines and system performance and functionality. Maintains small inventory of required parts and supplies needed to perform tasks. May act as property custodian for their location. Provides technical assistance/training to users. Develops and sustains effective and cohesive working relationship with team members. Position will require some moving and lifting of heavy objects (50lbs). Position requires some travel. Qualifying Experience: Qualifying Experience may include: Experience demonstrating: practical or intermediate knowledge of electronic equipment's (i.e., computers or equivalent) functions, operations, interrelationships of components of a system; and capabilities of gaming machine functionality; skill in installing, testing, troubleshooting, developing/making minor modifications to parts of a system on the basis of detailed specifications provided; ability to plan the sequence of actions required to accomplish assignment( s) where internal and/or external coordination is necessary. OR Education or training: Successful completion of(a) all the requirements for n bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or electronics technology, or (b) 3 years of study· in an accredited (by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) curriculum in electronics, or (c) a full 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree that included major study or at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as those above for GS-4 or equivalent. At least 12 of the 14 semester hours must have been in electronics courses. Note: Highly desirable candidate will possess technical expertise of gaming machines and information Technology methodologies for application software and maintenance. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
