JOB DESCRIPTION:\ Performs intermediate skilled work providing labor work in construction, repair, and maintenance of the water distribution system, operating assigned machinery and equipment, performing preventive maintenance and repairs, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the assigned supervisor.
SPECIAL NOTE:
The incumbent works outdoors and is exposed to extreme temperatures, confined spaces, andtraffic. May be subject to call backs. The primary assignment will be in water distribution.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, with a desire to enter into the field of municipal water distribution service. They will demonstrate a commitment to be a positive and productive member of a team. They will indicate an interest in furthering their education and work experience, which may increase their opportunities for advancement. Backhoe experience preferred.\ \ Note:If a candidate does not possess ADEQGrade I Water Distribution or ADEQ Grade I Water Treatment Certification and a valid Commercial Driver License Class A with a Tanker Endorsement at the time of hire, they will be considered a trainee until both are obtained. Certification and CDL must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
