JOB REQUIREMENTS: Nature of Position: This is a semi-skilled and skilled position that requires flexibility in skill sets and job assignments. Work would include, but is not limited to: The maintenance and repair of village owned parks, pavilions, ballfields, playgrounds, beaches, boat launches, public restrooms, rights-of-way, cemetery, and other village owned buildings, properties, parking lots, and facilities. This position would also include snow and ice removal. This position reports to and is under direct supervision of the Parks Department Supervisor, as well as, receives direction from the Public Works Shop Foreman and the Public Works Director. This is a full-time position, with a 40-hour work week, occasional overtime, and a rotating summer weekend schedule. Examples of Essential Job Functions: Operate and maintain various types of equipment including the following, but not limited to: zero-turn lawnmower, push style lawnmower, small one ton dump truck, equipment trailer, bucket truck, woodchipper, leaf vacuum, UTV, and other equipment and attachments. Operate and maintain various types of hand tools and power tools including, but not limited to: chainsaw, power drill, Sawzall, circular saw, pressure washer, snowblower, weed trimmer, and other related power and hand tools. Operate a pickup truck with a snowplow and other small equipment for parking lot, alley, and sidewalk snow removal. Use shovels, scrapers, salt carts, and other snow removal equipment for the manual removal of snow and ice. Operate a lawnmower and weed trimmer to maintain grass and landscaped areas at village owned facilities including parks and street rights-of-way. Clean, disinfect, pickup garbage, and maintain public restrooms and facilities. Perform a wide variety of building maintenance and repair tasks to Village owned buildings and facilities. These tasks may include: general internal and external building maintenance, brush mowing, tree trimming, landscaping, painting, and other correlated tasks. Maintain park facilities and structures, including: ball diamonds, playground equipment, shelters, beaches, and bathrooms. Assist in the pickup and recycling of residential yard waste, such as: leaves, grass clippings, and tree trimmings. Assist in cemetery upkeep, including burials. Maintain shoreline, beaches, and dam property of the lake and connecting rivers and creeks. This would include duckweed removal. Perform other parks duties as assigned. Assist Public Works 2 with traffic control and other tasks. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements: \High school diploma or equivalent. \Possess a valid Class D Wisconsin Driver\'s License. \Residency within a 20-mile radius of the Village of Lake Delton would be preferred, but not limited to. \Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions. \Possess the ability to perform duties independently, as needed. \Interact, effectively communicate, and maintain good relationships with the public and fellow employees/staff. \Perform a wide variety of physical tasks and ability to work around moving mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and other potentially hazardous conditions for extended periods of time, in all types of weather conditions and times of the day or night. Furthermore, ability to select and properly use any and all personal protective equipment, traffic deterrent, and warning devices to prevent injury or unsafe conditions. \Ability to consistently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and, on occasion, lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. \Ability to perform aerial tasks, as needed, with use of a bucket truck or ladders. \Possess skill in the safe and effective operation, care, and maintenance of equipment and tools. \Ability to be on a rotating weekend parks schedule.
