Aerotek Maintenance Mechanic in LAKE BLUFF, Illinois

Description:

Looking for a first shift maintenance technician! Hours can be 7am-3:30pm/8am-4:30pm can be flexible with someone.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains plant machinery and equipment following a standard preventive maintenance schedule to keep equipment functioning at maximum efficiency and

reliability

• Performs troubleshooting and analysis to fix additional equipment problems as they occur

• Performs general building maintenance which includes, but not limited to, light carpentry and painting, cleaning, lite plumbing, changing of light bulbs,

repair of minor electrical devices, changing of filters on HVAC equipment, and monitoring of outdoor spaces

• Assists Facilities Engineer in scheduling work and determining needs for equipment and supplies

• Responsible for the completion of all work assigned to in a consistent, timely and effective manner, referring unusual technical or personnel issues to

Facilities Engineer

• Adhere to Organization and the Facilities Department policies and procedures, including appropriate attire, grooming and attendance

• Records all actions taken in equipment maintenance log promptly and accurately so that complete records are available for each piece of equipment

• Makes recommendations to improve preventive maintenance procedures and best practices

• Performs routine facilities maintenance as needed; does not get into involved plumbing or electrical work

• As needed, run errands to pick up parts or supplies, 1 to 3 times per month.

• Assists Facilities Engineer to coordinate work from sub-contractors

• Maintains tool room to ensure availability of repair parts, tools, equipment and building supplies necessary to perform maintenance functions

• Makes suggestions to improve quality, efficiency, safety, or communication

• Follows all safety practices and immediately corrects or reports unsafe or hazardous conditions. Maintains a clean and orderly work area

• Provide off hour coverage/support as required

• Travel to and perform duties at McHenry facility upon request

• Performs other duties as assigned by department supervisor

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude, good math skills, problem solving and attention to detail

• Must have experience with basic hand tools and electrical meters

• Must be able to read electrical and pneumatic diagrams, knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics a plus

• Strong troubleshooting skills

• Good documentation skills and strong computer skills

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations

• Ability to work under pressure and respond with a sense of urgency

• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively both orally and in writing with maintenance staff and cross functional teams

• Familiar with basic building wiring, equipment, electrical systems up to 480 volts 3 phase, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and plumbing work

• Ability to read and understand maintenance schedules, machine schematics, and troubleshooting manuals, and to neatly maintain maintenance logs

Experience Level:

Intermediate or Expert Level
